It is critical that pipes, ducts, and other components utilized in high-temperature environments receive proper thermal insulation. Ample insulation serves to keep utility costs low and reduce energy consumption. Insulation is one of the best means of restricting and controlling heat loss. It helps to keep heat and flames from leaking outwards and radiating away from the components it’s meant to be restricted to. While other insulative materials may be damaged by or react negatively to common industrial chemicals, Rishon features beneficial chemical resistance properties that make it ideal for environments where chemical damage is a risk.

Insulation Utilizing Rishon® Material

Each of these materials is intended to control and mitigate heat conduction, convection, and radiation. Rishon can handle high temperatures and is fire proof, making it ideal for use in insulation applications across nearly any environment.
Different thicknesses also play a part in insulation’s effectiveness. Varying thicknesses provide different protections against various heat levels. For example:
- A 0.09” layer of Rishon material can withstand temperature drops as much as 600° F.
- A 0.05” layer of Rishon material that can also facilitate as much as 600°F temperature drops, but can still maintain other light-weight properties.
While insulation is most commonly utilized to control heat, it is often used for sound and vibration dampening as well. Our Rishon material can provide these effects as well.
Building Insulation Utilizing Rishon® Material
Insulating buildings adequately can prove challenging, but experts have worked hard to make the process as straightforward and efficient as possible. Common insulation methods include slabs or blocks, blanket insulation, insulating boards, or reflective sheets, or loose fill.
Building insulation can be made of various materials. The most common are:
